In recent years, various sculpture salons have emerged in various places, and more and more sculptures have been exhibited at important art fairs. The solo exhibitions of sculpture artists have come to the fore. In 2008, Xiqiao Yinshe launched the first contemporary sculpture work in China in the spring auction. By the time when China Jiadechun filmed “Chinese Sculpture” in 2011, 60 pieces of contemporary sculptures were sold at 98.33%. The rate ends.
By 2015, as traditional buyers became more aware of sculpture, a group of new buyers, composed of elites and returnees, began to enter the market, and the situation in the sculpture market improved. However, when young buyers choose sculptures, they often have a tendency to choose art forms that are more important than themes.
In the current art auction market, the field of painting is almost saturated, and the cold and low price of the sculpture market has formed a certain market space and development opportunities. Taking advantage of this opportunity to showcase the artistic value of sculpture is an opportunity to change the status quo of “valuable, no price” in the sculpture market.
Looking at the international market, as early as 2002, Christie's sold the Swedish sculptor Giacometti's "Standing Up Women" for $14.3 million, and in 2005, Christie's "Impressionism and Modern Art Auction" in New York. On the other hand, the Romanian sculpture master Konstantin Brancusi’s "The Flying Birds" was sold for $27.45 million. On the Sotheby's auction in London in 2010, Giacometti's bronze sculpture "The Walking Man" was 6500. Ten thousand pounds were sold. It is understood that there are not many sculptures in the European and American markets with an auction price of more than 20 million US dollars. In contrast, the domestic sculpture market has just begun to break through the million market in the past two years, and indeed there is still a certain market space.
